Our P.T.A. meetings are held the FIRST Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Media Center. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings.  We always welcome new people and ideas.  Also, if you have not already sent in your membership dues, it is never too late to do so.  A form was provided in the September newsletter (and one sent home with each student) that you may send in to the school in an envelope marked “ATTENTION:  PTA MEMBERSHIP.”

We hope you will make plans to join us at our next meeting to share your thoughts and ideas on how we can make OMMN an inviting place for our children to spend their days learning and growing.

Karen Kivi, President

“Together Everyone Achieves More”

THE MISSION OF THE PTA

·         To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;

·         To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;

·         To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

THE PURPOSE OF THE PTA

·         To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.

·         To raise the standards of home life.

·         To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.

·         To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

·         To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education

FEBRUARY UPDATE:

The P.T.A. is asking your help in raising funds by enrolling in the eScrip Program through local merchants who will contribute to OMMN up to 8% of purchases you make when shopping at their stores.  It’s easy—you can go online to enroll or mention the eScrip Program when you shop at these stores to enroll your grocery cards, credit and debit cards.  See the list of participating merchants. Our group ID is 6597103.

Thank you for supporting the Old Mill Middle North P.T.A.!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Calling all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, community members!  Again this year we need a number of volunteers for various activities, including:

  • Health Screenings (vision/hearing, scoliosis)
  • PBIS Cart-O'-Fun and parties
  • AVID tutoring
  • Market Day product distribution
  • Media Center book checkouts and Fall Book Fair
  • Main office clerical help
  • In school or at home teacher support

Volunteers are ESSENTIAL for certain programs to take place.  Students are better served when volunteers give the extra adult support that the school cannot provide.  Help is always appreciated and we will make every effort to best match our needs to your schedule and personal demands. For more information, please contact Mrs. Miller or Mrs. Jennings, or for the AVID program, Mrs. Richel Aquino,

We look forward to working with you!
